The full metal backplane MB996SP-6SB makes it possible to set up a complex RAID system for six 2.5″ SATA hard drives. The eagle hook system holds the drives securely in the housing. The compact design, which fits in a 5.25″ drive bay, can be used in a variety of applications. The MB996SP-6SB excels in applications such as two RAID 5 arrays or a high-performance setup with four drives in RAID 0 and an additional RAID 1 to protect important data from drive failure. The MB996SP-6SB is particularly useful in small, compact servers, but gaming PCs, home servers and HTPCs also benefit from the compact design that allows high storage capacities. It is also ideal for users who do not operate RAID but rather individual drives in a JBOD setup, for example to back up different data on different drives. Anti-vibration technology (AVT) and EMI grounding ensure a protected working environment. In order to offer the system more functionality, each slot has its own, individual LED for the hard drive and provides information about the current drive status at all times.
